Line Bred Snow Disclaimer.

The first Snow Leopard Geckos that I ever saw were on the site of A1 Reptiles. This was in 1997. At that time it was inferred that they had obtained the original breeding stock in a shipment of wild caught Leopard Geckos. Because of the white coloration they exhibited (especially as hatchlings), they named them Snow Leopard Geckos. I obtained a pair of them in 1998. They were a far cry from what we consider Snows now. As adults they were very skinny, had angular heads, weird shaped tails, and were not very white in color. I obtained a pair of them in 1998.

Here is a picture of my original Male. He was produced by A1 Reptiles, but sold to me by another breeder. You can see in the picture that the tail is skinny in the middle and slightly crooked at the end.

This is a picture of the Female. This one was produced from A1 stock.

Here are pictures of two that I produced in 2005.

There is quite a difference don't you think? Unfortunately the beauty of these Snows comes at a small price. Because the nicest Snows are created by Line Breeding (breeding the whitest to the whitest), after a while many of the Snows created have a slight bit of tail kink. It may be as subtle as a too fast taper of the tail or actually have a slight bend in it. It is strictly a cosmetic problem and in no way effects the health of the Gecko. Unfortunately unlike a Recessive trait there is no way to out-cross them since all of the Line Bred Snows are related to the original A1 Stock. For this reason I make sure all the photographs of the available Snows have the full tail in the picture.

Before you purchase one of our Snows it is your responsibility to make sure that you have checked the picture of the gecko you wish to purchase for any amount of tail kink. If you are not sure please ask me and I will give you an honest answer. If you think you might have a problem with the slight amount of tail kink, please do not order. Once purchase is made I take no responsibility. Any returns will be paid shipped to you and shipped from you by the purchaser before any refunds will be issued. I apologize in advance for having to do this but unfortunately I see no other way to handle it.

Thank you very much for your understanding in this matter.
